Dazzling Color Arrives Earlier & Lasts Longer Why Red Sunset ® Maple Trees? Delivering outstanding red and orange color weeks earlier than other varieties, the Red Sunset® is one of the best maples on the market. This tree’s deep, dazzling red hues can develop almost one month before other similar varieties, giving you longer-lasting fall color. The Red Sunset ® displays rich, vivid color where other maples can't. Whether you're in a cold climate with temperatures down to -20 degrees or a hot, dry desert up to zone 9, you get the promise of intense color. The Red Sunset® is much more drought-resistant than other varieties too, so it keeps on looking great despite little water. Plus, its strong branching stands up to high winds and intense storms with ease. Nothing can stop the Red Sunset® from displaying its vivid range of bright hues. Plant your Red Sunset® Maple along the road’s edge, in borders, or as an ornamental that stands on its own. No matter where it grows, the Red Maple puts on a show and transforms your landscape into the best yard on the block. Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better Your Red Sunset® Maple has been well-maintained at our nursery, long before it arrives at your door. Now, you get the endless benefits and good looks of the Red Sunset® Maple Tree without hassle. The yard of your dreams is just a click away - order your own Red Sunset ® today! Planting & Care 1. Planting: First, choose a full to partial sun location for your Red Sunset®. Any area with a maximum of 6 hours of direct sunlight, some afternoon shade, and well-drained soil is best. Dig a hole deep enough to cover your tree's root ball. After placing your tree, tamp down the soil while backfilling to avoid air pockets in the area. Water your tree to settle the soil that surrounds the roots, and ensure it is planted several feet away from structures and power lines. 2. Watering: Simply water your Red Sunset® Maple during dry spells for the first few years. Generally, it will thrive on rainfall alone. 3. Pruning: Prune maple trees during winter or early spring before bud break, when they are fully dormant. This helps minimize stress on the tree and reduces the risk of disease transmission. Maples can bleed sap heavily if pruned during the growing season (spring and summer). Remove dead or broken branches first. Next, thin out the canopy to allow for better light and air circulation. Look for large branches growing at narrow angles to the main trunk, branches that are rubbing others or branches that are growing inwards and crossing others. Do not remove more than 30% of the living canopy per pruning to minimize stress.
