The late Jason Hairston founded KUIU to create the lightest and most high-performing mountain hunting clothing available. Hairston grew up hunting with his dad and brother. From shooting in the backyard every night after dinner to annual hunting trips to Colorado or Utah, hunting and shooting were family traditions for the Hairstons. After working a number of unsatisfying jobs, Hairston decided it was time to pursue something that involved his true passion: hunting in the mountains.
